Previously the film was given 89 cuts along with a name change. The makers moved the court and questioned as to on what basis these cuts were assigned. Now, that the court has cleared the film with just one cut, it definitely comes as a historic judgement not just for this film, but the whole film industry in total.
Udta Punjab stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead roles. Produced by Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures, the film is set to hit theatres on June 17.
